Good French onion soup can’t be rushed. We slowly caramelize fresh yellow onions until deeply golden, then build a rich, savory broth with our house-made beef stock, dry white wine, and thyme.
Served with toasted baguette and real Swiss Gruyère AOP, aged at least eight months, packaged separately so you can finish it at home with that classic golden, bubbling cheese topping. Available for one menu week only.
Single: Soup in a pint mason jar, two toasted baguette slices, and 2 oz shredded Gruyère. A substantial lunch or light dinner.
Family: Soup in a quart mason jar, four toasted baguette slices, and 4 oz shredded Gruyère. Approximately two hearty servings or four smaller soup-course portions.
Jar return: The displayed price includes a $1 refundable mason jar deposit, credited when you return the jar.
To enjoy: Remove soup from the jar and heat in a saucepan to 165°F. Transfer to a broiler-safe bowl with room for the toppings, add toast and Gruyère, and broil approximately 2–4 minutes, watching continuously, until golden and bubbling. For an easy finish, heat soup to 165°F in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring for even heating, then add toast and cheese and microwave briefly until melted. Divide into bowls as needed. Do not heat or broil the mason jar.
Storage: Keep soup and cheese refrigerated at 40°F or below. Follow the use-by date on your package.
Contains: Milk, Wheat.
Mason jar care — do not heat in the jar. Never microwave, oven-heat, broil or place a mason jar on the stovetop. Transfer contents to a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan before reheating. If frozen, thaw in the refrigerator first.
